Redefining Rich (and Free)

by Anoushka Mirchandani, Founder & CEO

As we get closer to the 4th of July, everyone’s talking about freedom.
Big, bold, dramatic freedom.
For America, it meant independence from the British. For us, it’s often framed the same way:
Pay off all your debt. Hit $1M in net worth. Quit your job and never look back.

And hey, those goals are valid.
But real financial freedom? It usually shows up a lot quieter.

It’s peace of mind at the grocery store.
It’s knowing your rent is paid before the 1st.
It’s being able to say no to what drains you or yes to what lights you up—because you’ve created the room to choose.

Because here’s the thing:
Everyone’s story is different. And so is everyone’s version of freedom.

Freedom That Feels Like You

Every July, we talk about independence.
But what if we expanded that idea?
Not just politics or fireworks or big declarations.
What if freedom was something personal?

For me, it’s not about hitting every financial milestone on a checklist.
It’s about building a life that feels rich. One where my money supports what matters most—not just what looks good on paper.

For me:
Rich is being able to show up at my kids’ swim practice every day.
Rich is not spiraling when I have to replace all my tires unexpectedly.
Rich is buying the $15 ice cream pint just because I like that flavor, and still saving for a trip abroad every year.
Rich is having clarity over perfection.

That’s the version of freedom I want.
Rooted in calm, clarity, and choice.

And maybe this 4th of July, while the fireworks are going off and everyone’s celebrating America’s independence,
you take a moment to celebrate your own.
Not just where you’ve been—but where you’re headed.

This could be the year of your financial independence, in whatever way that looks like for you.
And remember, if that kind of freedom feels different than what you were taught to chase?
You’re not alone.

Redefining Success (SIMMER Style)

The traditional script says “you’ll be free when…”
You hit six figures.
You own a home.
You retire early.
You finally get it all right.

But that version of success keeps moving the finish line.
It’s always one more milestone away.
And it almost always comes with a side of shame.
“Why am I not there yet?”

At SIMMER, we believe in flipping that narrative.

Freedom isn’t a destination.
It’s a long-term relationship.
One with your money, your values, and your own sense of enough.

It’s not about restriction. It’s about balance.
It’s not about control. It’s about choice.
And it’s always evolving.

We’re not here to tell you what your rich life should look like.
We’re here to help you define it. And build it.
In a way that aligns with your version of rich.

Because when success stops being someone else’s script,
you get to write your own.

Your Money, Your Terms

This summer, instead of chasing someone else’s version of success, try asking yourself a different question:

What does freedom actually feel like for me?

Not curated from someone else’s story.
Not aspirational just because it feels like the norm.
Just honest. And created for you.

If you’re ready to build that kind of financial freedom from wherever you’re starting, we’d love to have you with us.
