SIMMER APP & WEBSITE

Version 2.0 | Last Updated: October 19, 2026

Operator: Simmer, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business in California. Privacy questions and requests: hello@simmerapp.ai.

1. About SIMMER

SIMMER is a U.S.-distributed financial education application offering lessons, games, learning progress, rewards and optional financial-planning tools. You may register personally or access the same app through a sponsoring university, school, healthcare education program or other organization. This Privacy Policy explains what Simmer, Inc. ("SIMMER," "we," "our" or "us") collects, how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and your options when you use our app, website, organization-connected experiences or support channels.

SIMMER is not a bank and does not link to your bank accounts. The financial figures you choose to enter into our tools are for your own educational planning; they are not automatically imported from financial institutions. Some organizational records may be handled under a separate agreement with a participating institution.

2. Categories of Information We Collect

2.1 Accounts and registration

We collect your name, email address, account identifiers, authentication credentials or supported Apple/Google sign-in identifiers, account creation and verification status, privacy preferences, newsletter preference and records of Terms acceptance. We do not require a learner phone number to register. If a learner previously provided a phone number, it may be retained only as necessary for legitimate purposes and subject to applicable deletion rights.

You may choose to answer an optional age-range question during onboarding (for example, 13–17). Optional age ranges are not dates of birth or a comprehensive identity-verification method. A financial tool may separately request an age or retirement planning assumption solely to provide that feature. We do not require government-issued IDs or full birth dates for standard onboarding.

2.2 Learning and in-app rewards

We store chapter and lesson progress, game responses and results, quiz performance, experience and reward values, streaks, diamonds, lives, reward redemptions and timestamps. For sponsored learners, we also maintain organization relationships, class and group assignments, learning engagement, assignments, submissions, grades, educator communications, messages, announcements and administration records as relevant.

2.3 Your optional financial-tool entries

If you use BudgetXP, DebtXP, SaveXP/GoalsXP or RetireXP, we collect the figures you enter, such as income, spending, debt amounts, loan terms and interest rates, savings goals, contribution assumptions and retirement projections. You control whether to enter these details; they may be stored in your SIMMER account to preserve your work. We do not require bank credentials and do not use bank aggregation to retrieve your account balances or transactions.

2.4 Photos, support and communications

You may upload a profile photograph or savings-goal image, or provide information in a support message, request or institution-authorized communication. We retain contents, relevant attachments, participants and activity records as needed to provide and protect these functions.

2.5 Device, website and purchase data

SIMMER and its service providers may process device model or operating system, application version, authentication sessions, notifications device tokens, technical logs, crash or diagnostic information, IP addresses, browser settings, cookies and website activity. Store providers and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement data, such as the item purchased, app-store transaction ID, billing status and purchase amount. Apple or Google handles full payment-card credentials; SIMMER does not store full card numbers or card security codes.

3. How and Why We Use Your Information

We use information to register and authenticate accounts; provide lessons, games, learning progress, diamonds and optional tools; process permitted purchases; link institution-sponsored learners to their organization; provide classes, assignments and support; send requested service notifications; respond to privacy and security requests; evaluate product reliability and engagement; prevent abuse and unauthorized access; maintain records required by law; and operate the service.

SIMMER may send financial education tips, newsletters and updates when the newsletter preference is enabled during signup or where otherwise permitted by law. You can deselect the newsletter option before completing registration and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message. Declining marketing emails does not affect your access to SIMMER. We may still send necessary service-related messages.

4. What Schools and Organizations Can See

When you verify an email address on an approved institutional domain, SIMMER may connect your account with an organization and assigned class. Authorized instructors and organization administrators can view their permitted student roster, relevant progress, participation, scores, submissions, homework, grades, class communications and other institution-related information according to their roles. An institution's permissions do not automatically allow its personnel to see the values you voluntarily enter into personal financial-planning tools. SIMMER's authorized operational staff may access limited information where reasonably necessary to deliver and secure the service.

Information created or processed at a school's direction may qualify as school-controlled education records and be subject to the institution's agreement, FERPA or state student-privacy laws where applicable. SIMMER does not independently repurpose these records for advertising or direct-to-consumer marketing. An education record does not automatically become personal SIMMER data merely because the school has ended its sponsorship.

5. When Organization Sponsorship Ends

When an organization stops sponsoring a learner's access, SIMMER may offer a way to continue using the same account independently. Depending on the options available at that time, learners may be able to use a free version of SIMMER or choose optional paid features if offered. We will explain any available options and prices before a user makes a separate purchase. Ending sponsorship does not by itself enroll anyone in a paid plan or authorize a charge.

Eligible personal learning progress and information voluntarily entered into financial tools may remain associated with a learner's account, subject to applicable laws, technical limitations and institutional agreements. Available features and access to saved information may change after sponsorship ends. School-controlled records, including assignments and grades, remain subject to the organization's instructions and applicable law and do not automatically transfer to a personal account. If a school-managed email becomes unavailable, continued account access may require updated sign-in information and verification. Users may request access to or deletion of eligible personal information as described in this Policy.

6. When We Share Information

6.1 Organizations and authorized staff

We share institution-related information with authorized organization staff only as necessary for institution-supported learning and administration, subject to applicable agreements and role-based permissions.

6.2 Service providers

We use service providers to operate and protect SIMMER, including Supabase (database, authentication and supporting infrastructure), Vercel (website and supporting services), Amazon Web Services S3 (uploaded images), Firebase Cloud Messaging by Google (push notifications), Resend (transactional email, such as staff invitations and account notices), RevenueCat (purchase status and entitlements), Apple and Google (sign-in, app distribution and purchases), Google Analytics (website measurement) and Beehiiv (newsletter delivery). We may also use other service providers for customer support or requests when identified in the relevant feature. These providers may process information needed to deliver their services, subject to applicable agreements and safeguards.

SIMMER and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We do not intentionally send the amounts you enter into BudgetXP, DebtXP, SaveXP/GoalsXP or RetireXP to advertising services, newsletter providers, push-notification marketing providers or AI services.

6.3 Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement

SIMMER may use Meta's mobile software tools to measure installations, account creation or eligible purchases relating to SIMMER advertisements appearing on Facebook or Instagram. SIMMER does not display advertising inside its learning app. Mobile Meta ad measurement is limited to eligible personal adult users for whom any necessary permissions have been obtained; it is disabled for sponsored learners, users identified as under 18 and users whose adult eligibility is unknown. We do not disclose institution-controlled education records or user-entered financial-tool values to Meta for this purpose.

If Meta attribution is activated for an eligible adult personal user, limited device or usage events may be shared with Meta for advertising measurement. Some U.S. privacy laws may treat this as advertising-related 'sharing' even when no money is exchanged. Where required, we request permission before tracking; you may decline applicable device tracking permissions and contact hello@simmerapp.ai about optional attribution or privacy requests. We do not send app-store age-category signals to Meta or use those signals for advertising profiles.

6.4 Other disclosures

We may disclose information when required to comply with lawful process, prevent misuse or threats to safety, enforce rights, or as part of a permitted business transaction subject to applicable privacy protections. We do not sell users' personally entered financial-tool data or educational records to advertisers or data brokers.

7. Cookies, Tracking Preferences and Other Sites

Our website and web-based services may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, product measurement, diagnostics and performance. Providers operating measurement tools may independently process website visitor information, including information about activity on websites or services not operated by SIMMER, subject to their policies. You can use browser settings to restrict cookies, which may affect some features.

The optional browser 'Do Not Track' (DNT) header is not treated as a universal opt-out command by SIMMER's standard web analytics. Where a U.S. state law requires honoring a legally recognized opt-out preference signal, including a Global Privacy Control signal if applicable, we will honor it for covered processing. We may provide additional opt-out controls when required by law. We do not use school-controlled information or known minors' information for cross-context targeted advertising.

8. Age Eligibility and Children's Information

SIMMER's standard learning app is intended for individuals age 13 and older and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly enroll children under 13 through standard registration. If we learn that an account is held by someone under 13, we will investigate and take steps required by applicable law, which may include restricting or deleting the account and its data. Parents or guardians who believe an under-13 child provided information should contact hello@simmerapp.ai.

Learners ages 13–17 may use eligible features and, on personal accounts, purchases authorized by applicable app-store and legal parental-approval requirements. Sponsored learners cannot purchase for real money, although virtual diamonds remain usable. We may use limited age categories or store-provided age/permission information where required for legal compliance and age-appropriate features. These signals are not supplied to advertising partners or repurposed for advertising profiling.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We ordinarily retain active accounts, eligible personal learning progress, voluntarily entered financial-tool information and virtual rewards while the account remains in use and the information is necessary to provide account continuity, subject to deletion requests and legal obligations. We do not currently apply an automatic deletion schedule merely because a user becomes inactive. School-controlled records may have different periods determined by the institution's directions and applicable laws or signed agreements.

We keep purchase and transaction records as needed for refunds, reconciliation, accounting, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Security, support, diagnostic and notification records follow the period reasonably necessary for their purpose and any applicable service-provider schedule. Supabase daily database backups currently operate on a seven-day recovery window; removed live records may remain in snapshots until they expire. Retention may be longer where law requires preservation of specific records or a valid legal hold applies.

10. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

You can request account deletion through Settings > Delete Account in SIMMER or by emailing hello@simmerapp.ai. Requests submitted through SIMMER's in-app deletion function may be processed there, while requests submitted by email may be handled manually following appropriate verification. When a deletion request is valid, we remove or de-identify eligible personal information associated with the account, including linked learning and financial-tool information and user-uploaded images, subject to legal retention requirements and institution-controlled record obligations. Certain information may remain in backups for a limited recovery period or be retained for a legally permitted purpose. You may contact us for the status of a request or an explanation of any retained information.

You may also ask to access or correct eligible account information, request a copy of information where legally available, or ask other questions about processing. We may require reasonable identity verification before disclosing or altering account data. Where records are institution-controlled, requests may need to be directed to or coordinated with the relevant school. We do not require the purchase of a subscription to request personal-data access, a copy or deletion.

11. Privacy Rights in U.S. States

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to SIMMER, you may have rights to know what data is collected, access or correct information, request deletion, obtain portable data, opt out of specified targeted-advertising 'sharing' or sales, limit certain sensitive-data uses and appeal denial of a rights request. We will process qualifying requests as applicable law requires. Certain rights may be subject to authentication, legal exceptions and school-data rules. Contact hello@simmerapp.ai to exercise rights or ask how to appeal a decision.

SIMMER does not sell personal information for cash. Limited optional advertising-measurement disclosures for eligible adult personal users may count as sharing under some privacy laws. To the extent applicable, SIMMER will honor legally required opt-outs and consent rules, including those for consumers younger than 16. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable legal rights.

12. Data Security

SIMMER uses authentication, access restrictions, transport encryption and storage safeguards intended to protect personal information. Institution administrators see only data permitted for their roles, and infrastructure access is limited to authorized operational personnel. We work to detect and respond to security issues and will provide required notices after qualifying security incidents. No digital system can be guaranteed completely secure.

13. Updates and Contact

We may update this Policy as our app, vendors, processing activities or laws change. When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date shown above and provide additional notice or seek permission where required by law.
